Tina Mascara is a filmmaker driven by a commitment to telling authentic and meaningful stories. Raised in West Virginia, she found her way to filmmaking through hands-on experience and a deep interest in understanding people and their lives.

Her documentaries Chris & Don: A Love Story and Monk With A Camera received critical acclaim and theatrical releases. Chris & Don premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and earned nominations for a Gotham Award and a GLAAD Media Award. Monk With A Camera premiered at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater and enjoyed a successful international release.

Her most recent films include Face to Face: Don Bachardy, an intimate portrait of the celebrated artist, and I’d Rather Be Dead Than Silent, which examines faith, democracy, and resistance in post-9/11 America. Both films were recently completed and are now entering the festival circuit.

Tina’s process is one of discovery—immersing herself in the lives of her subjects to uncover the essence of their stories. With every project, she strives to create work that resonates deeply and reveals universal truths.
